Ten Next Chapter participants will share their Next Chapter Journey at Final Closing Event
Over 100 Next Chapter particpants and invited guests will travel from across Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland to CELEBRATE the success of The Next Chapter Project at the final closing event on Wednesday 26 February at Titanic Hotel Belfast.
The keynote address will be given by Gina Martin, Activist and Author of BE THE CHANGE - A Toolkit for the Activist in You. In February 2019 her eighteen-month campaign to make upskirting a sexual offence in England and Wales was successful and The Voyeurism Act was passed into law.
Delegates will also have the chance to hear personal stories from ten Next Chapter participants - the speakers were chosen from a recent Next Chapter speech writing competition - My Next Chapter Journey.
This event is by invitation only.
The Next Chapter project aims to contribute towards bringing about lasting peace building and societal change through the empowerment and greater involvement of women in community, public and political life and is delivered by Politics Plus, the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action and Irish Rural Link. It is funded through the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. Match-funding for the project has also been provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development in Ireland and the Executive Office in Northern Ireland.
