Fiona urges others to take that next step

Monaghan Chapter Participant is selected to run in 2019 local elections

Fiona McCaffrey Jones – Community Development Worker, Volunteer and former Next Chapter Regional Coordinator for Monaghan, Cavan and Louth selected to run in the 2019 local elections for Fine Gael.

“I am delighted to have been selected by Fine Gael to run in the Monaghan Municipal District in May 2019.  I am an experienced professional with seven years track record in the community and voluntary sector in Monaghan town and in north Monaghan.  The reason I am running in the local elections is that I want to do more for my community and my locality and I feel the best way to do that would be to bring my perspective and experience to the work of the local government as an elected representative.
I have always been an advocate of women’s meaningful participation in public and political life and I am proud to have worked on The Next Chapter project.  It is a project I feel passionately about and I would encourage other Chapter participants to take that next step and consider running for election.  It’s not easy to put your head above the parapet but I believe in the importance of public service and I am hoping that the people of Monaghan Municipal District will give me the opportunity to represent them.”

Thanks to Fiona for taking the time to write this testimonial.
