Co Donegal participants reach out to local women

Next Chapter participants want to hear thoughts and views on a range of topics concerning County Donegal

Are you female, age 18+ living in Co Donegal?
If so, Next Chapter participants from Co Donegal Chapter want to hear your thoughts and views on a range of topics concerning your county.

A series of focus groups will take place in community centres across the county starting with Moville and Burtonport on Wednesday 13 November, and Bundoran on Thursday 21 November. The results and findings will provide evidence for a report that will be published in January 2020 and shared with both local and national representatives.
The focus groups will be conducted by local women from Empowering Women in Donegal, part of The Next Chapter cross-border PEACE funded project that looks to improve representation of women in community, public and political life.
The focus group will allow participants the chance to share their valuable insights about factors affecting life in Donegal with other women. They want to hear from women from all backgrounds including refugees, asylums seekers, migrants and immigrants to add to the richness of this research.

“We are very excited that our Donegal Chapter of women as part of The Next Chapter Project is now on its way to become the independent Empowering Women in Donegal group and reaching out to other women in the county as part of their work. This is particularly important given both the rural isolation that these women might experience and the isolation of County Donegal within a Irish national context,” says Mary McDonald, Regional Co-ordinator of The Next Chapter Project.
